Description: This solo has a very pretty, flowing melody. The left hand uses short arpeggios for accompaniment. “Allison's Song” is especially appealing to middle school, junior and senior highschool students, as well as adults.
Purpose: *To help the student play in a lyrical style.
*To practice phrasing.
*To work on keeping the left hand softer while making the right hand sing.
*To play for relaxation or to perform in a recital.
Suggestions for Instruction: *Teach the student to phrase musically.
*Have the student feel the constant triplets.
*Analyze the left hand chords so students can see the pattern.
