Description
The Romanian Folk Dances, cataloged as HL 48002954 by Boosey & Hawkes, are a collection of six short piano pieces composed by Béla Bartók in 1915. Originally titled Romanian Folk Dances from Hungary, the suite was later renamed following the incorporation of Transylvania into Romania in 1920. These pieces are based on seven Romanian tunes from Transylvania, traditionally played on fiddle or shepherd's flute.
