The arranger's sense of humour shines through in this unique setting of one of our oldest familiar carols with intermittent outbursts from the low strings (these require careful counting!). Each section is featured with melodic material or lovely counterpoint and harmonic lines. Once the orchestra gets "wound up," a full and joyous maestoso brings the work to an end.
