This monumental work, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's literary masterpiece,is a challenging and uniquely rewarding composition for the advanced co ncert band. The second movement is an impression of Lothlorien, the elvenwood with its beautiful trees, plants, exotic birds, expressed through woodwind solos.
