Based upon the real social issues facing children, this musical is all about instilling kindness and consideration in relationships. Laced together by a group of rhyming rappers, each of the eight songs presents a positive message in a contemporary way. For example, the rock tune, “New Kids in Town,” and the tender ballad, “Nobody Plays with Johnny,” talk about acceptance; the rollicking 1950s style “Send a Card” teaches courtesy; the gentle ballad, “Feelings Are Just Feelings,” deals with self-esteem; and the rap, “The Sometimes Letter,” is about teamwork and caring.
