Odysseus and the Sirens is a virtuosic work for flute and piano by acclaimed Australian composer, Matthew Hindson. It was commissioned as the set piece for all finalists in the Australian Flute Festivals 2017 Open Competition - which took place at Griffith University, Brisbane. It was written at the request of the festivals Artistic Advisor, distinguished soloist Virginia Taylor, who previously released the premiere recording of Hindsons flute concerto House Music in 2015, and who gave the US premiere of the same work at the National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas in 2012.
