Tenebrae Factae Sunt is a short portion of text that is the fifth of the nine Responsories for Matins of Good Friday. This short verse depicts the scene of Jesus on the cross, with darkness descending all around. Galvani has depicted this through the different layers of texture alongside dynamic contrasts.
This piece was composed for The Queens College Choir, Oxford, and was performed in March 2015.
