Anne Boydbegan studying at the Department of Music at the University of Sydney in 1963 where her principal composition teacher was Peter Sculthorpe. A number of her works were performed at the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) concerts in Sydney and Melbourne. She continued her studies in England at the University of York . The Last of his Tribe is one of Boyds works which draws onAustralian and Asian themes.
