20th-Century English Song
Michael Head served in a munitions factory in the First World War. He composed the song cycleOver the rim of the moon(1918) to words bythe poet Francis Ledwidge who was killed in action near Ypres in 1917. All four songs from the complete cycle for high voice are availableindividually:
