Description
Una Fiesta de Canciones Folkloricas is a medley of Latin America folk tunes. Translated, the title means "A Celebration of Folkloric Songs". This arrangement is written to paint a musical picture in the style and sounds of the Latin American countries. The multi-cultural songs in this medley are very beautiful and melodic. This beauty coupled with the ethnic flavour in the orchestration will help you explore and experience the pageantry of a different culture.
The composition explores the colours and textures of the ensemble while being thematic in content. Although temps are well marked, the performers can be somewhat flexible with them. Many of the songs are indicated as lively or allegro. However, care must be taken not to play the tempi too fast, which would cause the melodies to sound hurried or rushed. This is particularly true of "Guantanamera". The is a substitute "C" part for the transposing alto flute. This arrangement is very enjoyable and a lot of fun.
